Ingredients for a Storybook:
Storybooks are flexible enough to be multiple lengths and support all kinds of media but there are some good rules of thumb to start with when you want to make a storybook!
The bare-bones minimum you'll need is a set of photos for the storybook. we recommend at least 15 photos set in a chronological order, walkthrough, or be used to tell a story about the subject of your book.
To supplement your images, you can use any copy you have in the text areas, or add in additional information to your projects. Further supplementing the images, you can use our in-app cinemagraph stock library to show the best of what you're offering.
If you images are too large (over 10MB) you may want to use a system like Adapter to compress the file size, and if they are too small services like letsenhance.io can get your images clear and crisp at a higher resolution!
Upload your images to the project or to a gallery on studeo, and you're all set to tell your story!
Ingredients for a Great Storybook:
If you'd like to take your storytelling up to the next level, there are several more assets you should gather to use. Adding in rich media content like 3D Tours, Videos and making use of Cinemagraphs is a great way to increase audience retention & engagement!
Adding in an introduction or overview video with the first three pages is ideal, and ensure that it includes an audio component as well. Placing these videos into larger interactive regions similar to the size of the cover photos is your best bet to keep people watching them fully before continuing on.
Cinemagraphs go well as supplements to other interactive regions, or as a simple illustration of some of the features you'd need to explain or highlight. A cinemagraph is a video that has been set to play with no controls or audio, but to automatically loop. We have a stock cinemagraph library in our design wizard for you to use while creating storybooks.
3D tours, scans or other types of engagement based media are a fantastic tool to have in a storybook, getting people a walkthrough of a space without leaving the comfort of home, they are a great addition to any project!
The final piece would be to take your copy to the next level, by adjusting it to fit the flow of your storybook! Adjust the copy you have to feel more personal, or more like a conversation than a list of facts. Make sure that the text on each page is relevant to the interactive features, and the content shown in the interactive features themselves. Most importantly, you want to give your copy a structure that gives your audience the feeling that they've gotten to know service, property or opportunity you're presenting to them!
